Weird Diets That Actually Work!

We’ve all come across a few strange ways to lose weight. Remember the Atkin’s diet? Cut out the carbs and eat meat and veg all day. But, it was too good to be true because you piled on the pounds when you introduced carbohydrates back into your daily diet. Normally, that is the case and the strange ones are not worth the paper they are written on. In the odd case, they do work, and they work fast.

  1.    Beer & Sausage

The beer and sausage diet looks like it was made in the ‘man cave’ for a legitimate way of increasing their meat and beer intake. But, it works apparently. There are people who have lost up to eighteen pounds in one month, so it works quickly, too.

How Does It Work?

Sausage is a great form of protein and protein is brilliant for making you feel fuller. Plus, research in Japan shows that no more than two pints of ale a day can increase your metabolism. Apparently, the hops in the beer regulate insulin levels, and that makes the body more efficient at breaking down sugars. As a result, your metabolism – how quickly you burn food – increases.

What To Watch Out For

Again, there are no carbs, and it does lack quite a few vital nutrients that you get from other foods. If you do like the look of this diet, you might want to add a few veggies or piece of bread, so your body doesn’t reject carbohydrates altogether. Also, just eating sausage can get boring, so try a range to keep it exciting.

  1.    Paleo Diet

Every wanted to experience how the cavemen used to survive? Well, with this diet you can try! The Paleo diet consists of food that you would only find naturally before the agricultural revolution. The agricultural revolution was around 10,000 years ago. Sounds weird, and it is, but it works, so for more info take a look at the Paleo Chef website.

How Does It Work?

In basic terms, the Paleo diet rejects the food that humanity has created and sticks to the food we were ‘born’ to ingest. For example, dairy is not in sync with our evolution because it occurred after the agricultural revolution. Cut out the foods that are not designed for our bodies, and you cut out the problems of a poor diet, such as disease.

What To Watch Out For

To cut out certain types of food that wasn’t available to the caveman is smart in some cases, like processed foods. But dairy, grains and beans are all part of a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. Watch out for omitting foods that you need to survive!

  1.    The Bacteria Diet

What’s great about this diet is that you don’t need to cut down on calories. In a lot of instances, most users of the diet increase their calorie intake the more fatty food they consume.

How Does It Work?

Bacteria are full of beneficial compounds that can break down fat. By increasing the amount of advantageous bacteria, your body becomes more efficient at breaking down food and burning energy. Plus, it regulates your metabolism and your appetite, so you eat less.

What To Watch Out For

Consuming the wrong type of bad bacteria. Also, you don’t want to twin that with eating the wrong foods. Bad bacteria, sugar and fatty foods go hand in hand, so you want to try and avoid these danger areas.
